For a really long time I believed that I was my thoughts and my thoughts were me. Then I tried meditation, and after a while I understood that my thoughts are just thoughts and those thoughts are not me.

And when you understand that important difference, the tiniest of tiny gaps appears, and with time, patience and the right tools (such as mindfulness and journaling), you can start to widen that gap a little more. And when you do, you realise that it’s in that gap that possibility lives…
